WWW Wednesday! February 20, 2019

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday! Today is a special Wednesday for me because it’s my birthday, yay! I’m celebrating today by getting a girl’s only mani-pedi with my 8-year-old daughter and my best friend of almost 25 years, being treated to a hot stone massage, then having dinner later tonight at The Fearrington House, one of my favorite restaurants in the area with my hubby (date night, woohoo!). It will be a good day, I think! But, if I’m not around on my blog answering comments and such today–you know why!
Anyway, on to my favorite meme! WWW Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. Here’s how it works: all you need to do is answer the following three questions and link back to her, or you can put your answers in the comments on her blog!

The three WWW questions are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently, I’m reading:

Never Tell (Detective D.D. Warren #10) by Lisa Gardner

The Last Year of the War by Susan Meissner

Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder * (with my daughter)

*Popsugar 2019 Challenge Prompt: a book that makes you nostalgic

The Thief (Black Dagger Brotherhood #16) by J.R. Ward * (audiobook-they take me forever so this might be on here for a while!)

*Popsugar 2019 Challenge Prompt: two books that share the same title

Since last week I finished reading:

It was a slow reading week for me…wow! I hope this week picks up. At least the reading was excellent!

The Secret to Southern Charm (Peachtree Bluff #2) by Kristy Woodson Harvey  (5 Stars)

Look For Me (Detective D.D. Warren #9) by Lisa Gardner  (4.5 Stars)

*Popsugar 2019 Challenge Prompt: a book written by two female authors

Next, I plan on reading:

The Southern Side of Paradise (Peachtree Bluff #3) by Kristy Woodson Harvey

Little Lovely Things by Maureen Joyce Connolly

The Editor by Steve Rowley

Well, that’s what my reading has been like since last week! How about yours? What good books are you reading this week or have you recently finished? What wonderful books do you plan on reading next? I’d love to hear what you’re reading so I can have more ideas for my ever-growing TBR pile! 🙂 Have a great week!!

  1. Happy Birthday, Stephanie. 🎂🍾🎉 Have a lovely day.

Wow. What a great selection of books. They all look fantastic and I haven’t read any of them yet. I can’t wait to hear what you think. Xx

    1. Thank you, Zoë! I truly did have a wonderful day!

I can definitely recommend the ones I’ve already read…so good! I think you’d love The Unhoneymooners…it’s funny, romantic, and sexy! I read it in one sitting. I’m hoping my others are as good!

  2. Happy birthday! My two granddaughters have birthdays this month, and so does my granddaughter-in-law. Your plans sound lovely.

Your books are also tempting. I always enjoy Lisa Gardner, and just downloaded Never Tell today. I also want to read The Editor.

    Enjoy your week, and here’s

    1. Thank you, Laurel! February is a busy birthday month. I have cousins and several friends with birthdays this month. Happy birthday to your granddaughters and granddaughter-in-law!

It was a lovely day! I’m so glad I got to enjoy it. It’s usually snowing on my birthday and we’re snowed in but not this year!

Never Tell is excellent so far. I loved Rowley’s first book, so I hope The Editor is good too.

Thanks for sharing your WWW post! Have a great day!

  3. Happy B-day, Steph! It sounds like you have a wonderful day planned! I hope you enjoy every minute. So many books I’m interested in this week. Hope you love them all and can’t wait to hear your thoughts. ❤💖❤

  4. Happy Birthday, Steph! 🎂 🎁 🍰 Enjoy your day with your YUMMY dinner and hopefully Carolina is going to win today for your birthday! We are almost exactly two months apart- just off by one day! I’m reading Little Lovely Things this weekend and of course I have that KWH book coming up! Happy reading and Happy Birthday! ♥️

    1. Thanks, Jennifer! Dinner was so yummy! I had strawberries and champagne for dessert and that was to die for! Yes, so glad they won 😊 but felt terrible for Zion and his knee injury. I hate seeing players get hurt, especially young kids like that. He’s my son’s age, so ugh. Yours is Dec, right? We were babies together, lol. I hope to start Little Lovely Things this weekend but have midterms to finish grading, fun, fun! Yes!! That KWH book was brought to my house by UPS yesterday so another great bday gift!! I knew it was coming since I track all my UPS shipments and saw Simon &Schuster was sending me a package lol! Since I just finished book 2, I have to go ahead and read book 3 asap! You too! Thanks! 😘❤

    1. Thank you, Marialyce! It was a wonderful day! The Unhoneymooners was great. I’m having some trouble getting into The Last Year of the War, but I think it’s me not the book (or I hope). It’s midterm time and I’m grading over 100 five page essays, so I’m gravitating toward faster reads, I think. Yes, Pisces people are alike! Are you a Feb or March bday?

      1. Thank you! You definitely know what it’s like. I grade essays every 2 weeks but it just seems like midterms and finals are more intense (of course for them). March is a great month for a birthday! I was due in March but was a preemie.

  5. My reading week was less productive than yours if that makes you feel better. I am somehow in the middle of three very lengthy books right now and making slow progress. Looks like you enjoy Lisa Gardner, so I think I’ll have to give her a try. Which one of her works would you recommend the most? I reread Laura Ingalls Wilder last year. I remembered it very differently from when I read it as a child. Here is my WWW this week: https://greatmorrisonmigration.wordpress.com/2019/02/20/www-wednesdays-february-20-2019/

    1. I am! This storyline with Jane and Vishous is going to make me crazy because I’m not sure how I feel. I like both but like Vishous better…right now they’re just making me nuts! But I always enjoy BDB world! All three upcoming books are ARCs, so I’ll have to see how they go too (one I’ll love since it’s the last of a trilogy).

  6. I am diving into Never Tell real soon. I am going to put everything on hold and not think about anything but that book. lol . This is a favorite series for us!

So what birthday books did you get?

    1. Yes! It’s one of mine too..I love D.D! I hope you enjoy it–so far it’s fabulous!

I got The Silent Patient (yipee), The Lost Man, The Lost Girls of Paris, I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella, Roomies and Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating both by Christina Lauren, and Lies and Other Acts of Love by Kristy Woodson Harvey..and gift cards to Amazon to buy more books 🙂 So I was very happy!!

  7. Happy birthday!! Thank you so, so much for reading and reviewing my books. I am so incredibly grateful!! I can’t wait to hear what you think of I Owe You One. I just finished it and thought it was adorable! I just started Bangkok Wakes to Rain, so a totally different vibe, but I’m loving it too! 2019 has been a great reading year for me so far. Thank you again!! Hope you enjoyed that fab dinner! xoxo Kristy

    1. Thank you so much, Kristy! ❤ You're very welcome! I LOVED them and can't wait to read The Southern Side of Paradise…this series has been an absolute joy to read and review. I can't tell you how much I love it! I'm thrilled to hear that about I Owe You One since Sophie Kinsella has been one of my favorite authors for decades! Bangkok Wakes to Rain sounds amazing and is added to my growing TBR! I'm glad you're loving it! ♥ This has been a great reading year…I hope it stays that way for both of us. You're welcome! Oh my, yes! It was divine! xoxo

    1. I think you’ll love them both! Look for Me was a Feb 2018 publication, but I just got around to reading it. I know she published a novella In January with D.D in it (I think it is called The Guy Who Died Twice?), but I haven’t read that one. That would be strange if she published them at the same time, but you never know! They way Patterson and Nora Roberts pop out books, anything is possible, lol!
