The Unique Blogger Award #1 and #2!

I was so happy this week to be nominated not just once this week but twice for The Unique Blogger Award!! Thank you so much, Nel @ Reactionary Tales and Jay@ThisisMyTruthNow for nominating me for the Unique Blogger Award! Thank both of you so much! They both have wonderful blogs with amazing content, so please go check out each of their sites!

The Rules:

  • Share the link of the blogger who has shown love to you by nominating you.
  • Answer the questions.
  • In the spirit of sharing love and solidarity with our blogging family, nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
  • Ask them 3 questions.

Questions by Nel:

  1. If you could have your pick of a book to make into a movie, what would it be?  I just finished reading He Said, She Said by Erin Kelly, and I would love to see that made into a movie. It’s a slow-burn psychological thriller, and it would make a great movie, especially since the twists are so unexpected and the ending is just so shocking and out of nowhere!!
  2. What inspires you most about your blog? I’m most inspired by the people who I’ve meet so far in the blogging community and who I get to connect with every day, especially since I have so much in common with them, and so many of us share the same love of books even if when we have differences of opinions. Also, I’ve met so many new people from all over the world that it really makes me feel so connected and a part of something much bigger than my own little piece of the world.
  3. What author inspires you? This was not an easy one…but Maya Angelou’s writing’s have always been inspiring to me since she wrote from a place of great experience and pain and was able to imaginatively create those experiences into such beautiful literary works.
  4. What’s your favorite Disney song? A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes from Cinderella and You’ll Be in My Heart from Tarzan (makes me cry every time).

Questions by Jay:

  1. If you could have an author create your perfect world, which author would it be and what would the world look like? J.K. Rowling of course, and it would look just like Hogwarts after Voldemort is finally defeated for good!
  2. What person would you want to co-write a new blog site with? Why? Wow, I have no idea! I admire so many of the other blogs that I see that there are about 5 or 6 people who I can think of that I would love to collaborate with since we seem to have so much in common with not only in book tastes, but personal likes! But, I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings for leaving them out, so I will just pick you, Jay, since you asked the question!! 🙂 And you do have a wonderful, amazing blog, so there is that too!!
  3. If you had to change jobs but could only choose from these 3, which one and why? Designer. Dentist. Mechanic. I would choose to be a designer; I would love to have my own home decorating business and completely redecorate people’s homes! I’m constantly redecorating my living room to give it a fresh and updated look, and I really enjoy that, so I know I would love being a designer!

Here are my nominees for the Unique Blogger Award:

Jo-Ann@Inspiration Pie

Amanda@Literary Weaponry

Zuky the Book Bum

Mandy@Book Princess Reviews

Sarah@Between The Pages

Jo@Book Lovers Blog

Yesha@Books Teacups and Reviews

Here are my three questions:

  1. What’s the funniest book you’ve ever read or movie/tv show you’ve ever watched? Or both?
  2. What is something that you’ve always dreamed of doing but never have?
  3. What author, living or dead, would you like to spend an entire day with? Why?

    1. Thank you for the nomination! I love Maya Angelou so much. To have gone through everything she did and then be such a beautifully creative and inspiring soul is a wonderful thing.

  1. I love your answers, Stephanie and congratulations on the award! And thank you for nominating me! You are such a sweetheart 🙂

I’d pick JKR to create my perfect world too. And I’d have you do the decorating 😉 We’ll find someone else to look after the plants tho! lol

    1. Thanks Jo-Ann!! And you are welcome for the nomination! You’re so sweet to say that!!
That sounds like a fantastic idea! Although if we have magical powers we should be able to handle some plants?!😊

  2. Congratulations! I love your answers! They tell so much about your kind, wonderful personality. I’ve only known you for a couple of weeks, but I already feel like I’ve known you forever! (aha!)

  3. Congrats on the double nomination. And I love your answer for designer! It would give you so much freedom… maybe this will happen one day! 🙂

And we should co-write a post together on something. That would be fun. Thank you for such kind words. 🙂

    1. Thanks you!! That would be fun to design although someone would have to reign me in with a budget, lol!!

We should! It looks like we are already reading the same book right now, so we’re on our way to doing something together without knowing it 😃 You’re so welcome!!

  4. Thanks for nominating me Stephanie! I’ve heard some really good things about He Said, She Said. When I first started blogging I wasn’t really aware of what a great community it is, but now I don’t really know what I’d do without it! And awww A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes!! I had that on CD when I was little and, well, I listened to it A LOT. No one really even uses CDs anymore, speaking of which, since you can download literally anything on your computer. Still seems weird. It doesn’t even seem long ago when everyone used tapes! (I hoarded a collection of Care Bears tapes) Agh it’s so strange thinking that my little sister never even used a tape!

    1. You are very welcome!! I really enjoyed the book. It was so unexpected, and I usually have my psychological thrillers solved by 30% into the book or less!!
This is such a great community! I love the interaction ❤😊
Cinderella was the1st movie I ever saw at the movie theater!! I was 5,and it was just my mom and me. That memory has always stayed with me, and I guess 1 reason I love the song! Omg!! You had it on CD ,but I had it on a personal record player hahaha! I’m so old!! And I carried my tape player of Disney stories and music everywhere! My daughter had a CD I guess 4 yrs ago when she was in her Elsa phase with all the Disney songs on was 2 discs! I’d never heard of some of them! But yeah, my teenagers have no clue what a tape player or record player Is! Everything is online…

    1. Thanks!! They are more sentimental favorites than anything, I think ❤😊 Cinderella was the first movie I ever saw at the movie theater, so the song has always been a favorite because of That! And I was pregnant with my son when I saw Tarzan, and I just cried in the theater when I heard the song…later I sang it to him as a lullabye!😊

      1. How cute! I remember when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter and saw Polar Express. I bawled and I’ve never forgotten it. 😉 Funny how that works. Cinderella is definitely a fave. ♡

      2. Aww, how sweet!! It’s funny how things trigger you when you are pregnant! It’s just the best thing!! Oh, and having a daughter just makes me love Cinderella more since she has watched it so much! ❤

    1. It was amazing!! I think I sat there after I finished reading it in shock trying to figure out how I’d missed all the clues (although I had a suspicion about 1 thing and was right), but I never expected all the threads to come together the way they did and just explode!! I’d definitely recommend getting your hands on it asap!!

      1. It’s up to you, lol! I feel like I’m tagging people like crazy haha. I still have to find 6 more people to nominate…I’m trying to find people I’ve not nominated for the last few things to give everyone a break, lol!! Actually, I’m going to revise the post and combine both your and Jay’s nomination into one post. Then I’ll search for more nominees. I was going to schedule it to post Monday, so look for it then. I’ve got a couple of mini reviews to quickly write today and post then I’m going to take a writing break for a week unless it’s to comment on the blog since commenting is easy, and I don’t have to think like I do when writing a book review. I was in Urgent Care on Thurs and have pneumonia, so I’m just feeling terrible tired and not sleeping well because of the cough. They told me to get lots of rest, so I’ve been trying, but it’s not easy when your away from home, so I’m glad to be going home tomorrow. I’m going to see my regular doctor when we get home, and they want me to get a chest xray to see if my lungs are clearing up since I’m on heavy duty antibiotics and steroids. With my surgery/biopsies scheduled for next Fri, I just have to get over this asap because they will cancel if I’m still sick because of the risk of anesthesia complications. I’ve had a fun couple of days…

      2. Aww, thanks Jo-Ann!! I am as best as I can. It’s so busy here with everyone in and out and being so loud! I’m so glad to go home to my own bed tomorrow! The awards are pretty easy to do since I’m not having to do any in depth thinking like for a review, lol! Thankfully, I have posts already scheduled for Mon thru Fri next week, so I won’t be “absent”. Just no book reviews, so I’m going to have piles to write when I feel better, but I’m starting to think that I’m not going to review every book I read. Definitely write reviews for any ARC or publisher’s copies but some books I read for pleasure I might just want to keep for me. It’s just a thought…I may even write a post about my thoughts on it, hmmm. Not today though, lol.

      3. Thanks! I will! I try to do the Goodreads Monday, Top Ten Tuesday, and WWW Wednesday ahead if I can, and I did these before we left for vacation, so I was more prepared than even I knew, lol! 😊

      4. I didn’t even know you were sick! I hope you feel better when those antibiotics and steroids kick in! I feel so bad for you…and with the surgery coming up…ugh! Is that for the stomach biopsy?

      5. I’m sorry! I know I mentioned it in the comments, but I must have been talking to Danielle since we were talking about tea and oils to help. Thank you so much!! My daughter had bronchitis and an ear infection and fever for 4 days the week before we came down here and was on amoxicillin for the 1st 5 days while were here. Hubby got the cough but taking Dayquil and Nyquil made him feel better. Of course, I got the cough since I was taking care of everyone and was in their faces, and cuddling and holding my girl when she was feverish but thought it would go away like hubby’s did….I ended up with the fever on Tues and then had a wheezing cough on Wed. I thought it was bronchitis like my daughter had, so I was shocked. This is my 3rd time with pneumonia since November, so that’s another reason why the Dr I saw here wants me to follow up with my regular doctor. I don’t smoke or anything, but I have a history of asthma so they think that might be why since it can increase your risk. And since I have fibromyalgia and autoimmune thyroid disorder, they both lower/impair your immune system and that can increase the risk too. The Dr I saw here thought my Dr could possibly put me on asthmatic preventives, which might help keep an upper respiratory infection from turning into pneumonia so quickly. We’ll see! Yes! The surgery is for the stomach biopsy, so I definitely don’t want to cancel! I actually had to cancel it in March because I had pneumonia then after having the flu!! Ugh!

      6. Oh, that’s awful! Once you have pneumonia you are so prone to getting it again 😦 Any cough or cold seems to go right to the lungs, especially with asthma! I hope an asthma preventative does the trick to keep it at bay in the future.

Fibro and autoimmune thyroid…that’s so crappy! 😦 Makes it even doubly important to get your rest!

Sorry I was slow to get back to you! Just came home from a girls night out. Dinner and tea 🙂

      7. Having fibro and autoimmune thyroid just lowers your immune system so much, so I really think that is probably the big reason I keep getting sick. It’s like a cycle…you get sick, then have a fibro flare and need rest because you feel so horrible, immune system is down, get sick, and around we go…I’m going to see my rheumatologist soon and see if there is anything else I can do to boost my immune system.

But you are right, any cough or cold I get usually turns into an infection. I usually get bronchitis first then pneumonia, so I was surprised. Maybe I’d been sick longer than I realized. I have allergies all the time and could have just thought it was that.

No worries!!! A girls night out sounds lovely!! I hope you had a wonderful time 😊

      8. Thanks, Jo-Ann!! My husband and stepmom say it’s from doing too much….fulltime classes and fulltime teaching and fulltime mommying…I think they might be right since I’m going 24/7 once fall hits until May. (((Hugs))) Back!

  5. Thanks so much for the tag! It was so much fun tor read your answers, and I loved your answer about what inspires you to write. If I read a particularly good blog post, I just feel the need to go out and create. And I so agree about choosing a designer! What you said sounds like so much fun. And the Tarzan song gets me every time. Wonderful post, and thanks so much again! 🙂
